請問各位大大為什麼 Blancpain 的綽號叫 "白麵包 (white bread)"?
在外國的網站上曾經看過有錶友用 white bread 一詞, 所以我猜應該不是本土錶友起的.

blanc 西班牙文中白色的意思
著名老歌 casablanca 就是白色屋子之意 pain 可能是發音接近荷蘭語中的麵包(台語的麵包發音就是來自荷蘭語) |

台語的麵包好像是日文， "胖" 的發音 日文也叫 "胖" |

It's a direct translation from French. Blanc is white, and pain is bread. I believe Blancpain himself is French, so were many other Swiss watchmakers. btw, saw your posting in thepurists. Which UG do you have in mind?

Hi flyback, I've ordered a regulator from the dealer King told me, and just wired him the money this afternoon. Hope I wil receive it before the end of next week.
The speed of response of the dealer you told me is somewhat slow. I got an email from them after I wired the money this afternoon...
By the way, both chronograpy and regulator models are still available. People who are interested please be hurry...

Hi flyback, The price I got is the rrp with 16% VAT off (since we are not buying within the EU). Both official dealers offere the same price. However, the price offered by another gray-market dealer, (Markus Tschopp, I have heard enormous good words on this guy in many watch-related websites) is no discount whatsoever. 
I'd love to take some photos after I get it, but the only camera I have is a very old Canon EOS-5...

Is your dealer in Germany or Austria? I think VAT is 20% in Austria.
I've seen Markus Tschopp's name in many places. He's the silvermagic or silver-something guy, right? I always wonder if he's legit. |

Austria. The VAT is 16,666% Yes, Markus is the silvermagic guy. He is not an UG authorised dealer but "seems" truthworthy. |
