[b]Silicon material in Horage movements
What you see here is a microscopic view of the Silicon Hairspring used in our
movement. Silicon springs and the technology to manufacture them was originally
developed by Bosch more than 20 years ago. Nowadays they are widely used in
accelerometer sensors (each smartphone has many of them).
Partnering with one ofthe worlds leading sensor research institutes in Germany, at Horage we are now ableto use such technologies. Compared to traditional metal hairsprings, siliconhairsprings have numerous advantages. They are anti-magnetic, corrosion resistant, deformation stable and show more stable behavior under changingtemperatureconditions. As a result, our movements are more accurate, stable and service friendly.
