 ! I don't expect such a lot of responds to my little collection. First of all, sorry that I have to type in English because I don't know how to type Chinese and using 手寫板 will be very slow.
I started my interest in watches around 10 years ago and my initial 10+ were Swiss/German watches. After I had my first Seiko (the GS SBGR019), I started collecting only Japanese watches, especially Seiko. I learnt a lot about Seiko watches in the past 2 years, from its history to all the movements it uses. Two questions that most people will ask are: 1. Are Seiko watches reliable? My Bell-matic and Navigator Timer are both more than 30 years. The Bell-matic has never been serviced and it still functions very good and gains 10s/day. The Navigator Timer was serviced in 8/04 and now it gains 2 to 3s/day. 2. Are Seiko watches accurate? If you are talking about GS, no doubt it is very accurate, much better than my other Swiss/German watches including Rolex. If you are talking about those low ends with the 7S movements, then it depends on your luck. These movements are not well regulated before leaving the factory. Some of mine are gaining 20+s/day but the better ones run well within the chronometer standard. My Black Knight brought 2 weeks ago (only HK1020) loses 2 to 3s/day. It is well polished and beautifully made. Its lume is comparable to the Ball watches and it can last for a few hours. Some people said these cheap movements vary a lot with temperature change, but I don't experience this. May be the day to day temperature variation in Hong Kong is small.
