I have bought a swiss auto, it is a over $ US 1200 dollars watch.
Before I bought it, I have tested the accuracy for a few days in shop. The result is
+15 seconds, +9 seconds, +7 seconds, -2 seconds, -2 seocnds, 0 seconds.
I am not sure if the position is the same or not.
So now I put it on my hand for about 12 hours a day.
The result is it loses -3.5 seconds in daytime. But when I put the watch with crown up, it gains 3 seconds in nighttime.
Do you think I should replace it by another watch? Since it is not good for a watch to run slow, especially it is a new watch.

I don't think so
What you are describing is totally normal for a swis auto. movement Try to wear it and put it in front up, back up, crown up and down different ways +/- 3 seconds is acceptable and can be easily adjusted. Replace it by another watch may not perforn better |

well, it is +/- 3 seconds per HALF DAY.
Also, my result means there is huge difference between crown up and crown down position. One is +7 seconds per day, one is -7 seconds per day. Simon. |

yes, but is this a good practice?
For example, if a watch runs with + 1 hour difference, then with a position, it can become -1 hour, so does it mean it is perfectly accurate? I know there is a difference in different position, so inaccuracy can cancel with each other. But I think each difference should be low. So maybe I am suitable to chronometer more. |

How long have you worn this watch?
On the left or right hand? Try to wear normally and put in same direction (face up) for three days IF it gains or losses the same seconds (say +/-5~10) every day ADJUSTMENT will solve the problem If it (say +/- over 30) happened MAINTENANCE will be inevitable Chronometer, of course, is much better But +/-3 occurs all the time |
