beside simply accept the ppm on the spec of the x'tal, how to calculate the ppm without the frequency readout from that x'tal? it's all about the frequency measurement. you can either compare the x'tal readout with signal generator or use the frequency read out from that x'tal to calculate the deviation. normal 測錶機 can only tell us how balance between tic and doc - that's the analog way to adjust the watch. newer one with the digital display still use the same old technology to tell us how many sec deviation per day with some simple circuit to makes user easy read. even the 測錶機 you mentioned can be done with quartz watch. without the physical contact to the components inside the watch, it might only sense the magnetic pulse from the driver of the step motor or still old idea - sense the sound, then use it to compare with the internal clock that generated by it's own x'tal. both way is far away form ppm level measurement then. |
